Belinda Shake (who pronounces her last name as "Shack") is sweeter than sugar cubes—a bubbly Sugar Sprite who can be equally as sour and stubborn in the blink of an eye. Her special power is delivering an icy brain freeze—yikes! 

Sugar Sprites are original fictional characters of mine—they are the tiny bursts of sugar that flavor every delightful sweet treat we devour, from creamy milkshakes, which Belinda is queen of, to decadent dark chocolate. But as sweet as sugar can be, the sprites often act in mischievous ways to level the playing fields between sprites and humans. That stomach ache or stained tongue? Definitely the handiwork of a sugar sprite.
